unlocked phone update

Hello there,
I have an unlocked Nokia Lumia 920. I want to reset it to install the cyan update using the
Nokia Software Recovery Tool
but I am scared if I will lose the unlock after reset. I am using a different carrier's sim card. Please help!

Hi,

don't flash it with the Nokia Software Recovery Tool! You will probably lose your SIM unlock because it flashes you on provider branded SL ROM. You can flash your phone without losing unlock with Nokia Care Suite. after using nokia care can I reset to windows 8 and then update to cyan?
as I used the developers ("preview for developers") and cannot update my phone now

Yes, you can flash back to WP8 with using Nokia Care Suite and then upgrade to cyan. I did it myself, it works just fine
