Hello! I am looking to purchase a new windows phone. I have had my 521 for over a year know, and I absolutely love the os. I was looking for phones, and the 810 looks pretty good. Is it a good upgrade? Does it work on tmobile?. Any other suggestions?

Perhaps wait a couple of weeks for the 735 or 830? Most models are an upgrade from the 521, it depends what is important as to which is best. Perhaps say what you do and what you like.. large, small, gaming, taking photos etc.

But I dont have enough money for the 73x or 830 ($450 ish :c) I have enough for the 810 now, and it looks like a decent phone.
The only real things that are important to me would be using apps (insta. Facebook etc) and photography

If you are on a budget, look for a gently used 925 that is T-Mo branded.

lumia 925 T-Mobile | eBay

It's discontinued from T-Mobile but should get Cyan very shortly and might (?) even get Denim (?).

They are very solid performers. I just traded up to 1520.3 from one after about 9 months use. It was best all around Windows Phone last year.

Well I don't recommend the 822 from Verizon unlocked albeit its a good upgrade and cheap, like you could get it on eBay new unlocked for 100-120$ but its had issues with mms or SMS on TMo. 810... I wouldn't recommend, TMo did EOL it before it could get black firmware, so off the bat no choice but to use preview for developers to get more updates other than just Lumia amber firmware.

I'm on the 521 as well, but I'm shooting for Lumia 1520.3 as my next upgrade. Check newegg or b&h store online, 519$ and 489$ respectively.

Yes the phone is an upgrade from the 521. You can get the core WP updates from the developer preview program but firmware dependant features (Wi-Fi calling, Lumia camera improvements, etc.) won't work due to End of Life Status from T-Mobile. Battery life is good, you'll get Cortana and folders and any other enhancements. Camera quality (both front and back) are better than the 521, plus it has flash. Since it also has 1GB RAM and microsd, storage and apps being incompatible won't be an issue
