Data usage for Xbox music

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post in, but I have a question about the data usage for the Xbox music app on my 1020. After an update a couple weeks ago, the app now uses a couple of megabytes of data for every downloaded song I try to play. What's worse is that I get a "check your connectivity" error when attempting to play music on my phone without any data connection. Is this happening to anyone else, and does anyone have ideas to try to fix this? It completely defeats the purpose of downloading music and is extremely frustrating. Thanks!
