IMEI number L820 on phone and on documents don't match--what's wrong?

Hi guys!
First of all I am not a native english speaker... Here is the problem..I would like to buy second handed L820 which does not work as it should. There is some SIM card problem and also touch screen freezes after locking the phone, the seller says that it is software issue. Also another thing, although the phone has still warranty (it was bought in January) the IMEI number on the warranty and on the phone settings is the same but under the battery there is a completely different number.

Do you think that the SIM card and touch screen issues are possible to solve by reinstalling the software? And what about the IMEI? Thanks for every advice!

Sounds fishy that the number under the battery doesn't match. May be a cloned phone and barred from service.

Better safe than sorry... Do not buy this device...

I know it is strange..is it even possible to change IMEI number on the wp? what about the other issues?

Its better if you refrain from buying it... seems like too much trouble

The internals could have been completely swapped, is that possible without affecting the sticker?
I doubt either of those problems are software and wouldn't bother buying it.

Probably its some sort of warranty fixed device.
