I live in Switzerland, not far from the French border.
I don't go into France very often and have no need to use my phone over there.
Nonetheless, often in the course of my daily life, entirely in Switzerland, I will get text messages saying I have roamed into France.

Does anyone know, is there anyway to totally stop roaming on my phone? Not just data (I can see how to turn that off) but everything. I'd like to force my phone to always look for the Swiss antenna even if the French antenna becomes more powerful.

According to the table from the windowsphone website, no it is not possible. You will still receive calls and messages when roaming, you just wont be allowed to respond back to these calls/messages.
