Is it normal for my HTC One M8 for Windows to "resume" almost every time I open the Dot View Case?

It appears that every time I try to open the cover and it either unlocks or goes to the password screen (it's set to ask for password after 3 minutes, but was at 15 minutes for testing) it hangs for 3-5 seconds saying "resuming...". It then brings up the password screen or the home screen depending on how long I waited. Is this normal behavior? Is there a setting I can fix this with?

OS Version 8.10.14141.167
Firmware Revision 2061.30.10602.605

resume?

go to settings, and turn kids corner on.
then turn it back off

voila, that should have fixed the issue, which we see a lot.
