How can I delete Microsoft Account on WP8.1

I am kind of stuck in a dead end, I bought this phone used and the previous owner left his Microsoft account signed out, I can't delete it or change it to my own microsoft account, I can't download any apps because it asks me to sign into the microsoft account which is the previous owners'...and I obviously don't know his password,
is there anyway out of this?

Join WPC central as a member ! not as a guest. For all I know the phone could be stolen or you are stuck with second hand phone .

Yes there is a simple way to get over this. When ever you buy a second hand phone, its always advisable to do a hard reset as it gives u a clean OS starting right from the user agreement acceptance and allow you to login with your Microsoft account. For doing a hard reset follow the link below :
