Why won't my Nokia 1520 take charge?

My nokia 1520 will not charge. it has been plugged in on charge for 7 hours and the phone seems dead

it was just working last evening. this happened once before..the battery charge completely runs out and then I can't turn it back on for a VERY long time..last time it was 10+hours. I am using the charger that came with the phone.
this phone is a HUGE disappointment

try a soft reset & see if that brings it back to life.

We are assuming the outlet (it's plugged into) has power.

It might be a PEBCAK error, not the phone.
