Is there any way to get a round an issues that the 8.1 update caused to edu Gmail?

8.1 update caused edu Gmail problem

I installed the 8.1 update on my wife's Nokia 925 phone. It will not let her log on to her Gmail EDU account. It says says there is an account conflict. On her laptop she can still log on. Is there any kind of work around to get her logged on to her EDU google account? She is really PO'd at me for applying this update

try deleting the account, restart the phone, then create it again - that may fix it ...

unless it's a T-Mobile issue.

Very odd. I use have had two separate .edu e-mail accounts since getting 8.1 with no issue at all. Maybe a google issue?

Like MDK22 said, try deleting it and adding it again. There may have been some conflict with how the Gmail account was installed on 8.0, vs 8.1. Does the Google account have 2 factor authentication turned on? It's possible that the Google account was set up with an app password, instead of the bona fide account password. 8.1 definitely offers 2FA on accounts, such as Microsoft and Google.
