They can't return to manufacturing of mobiles for another two years unless they had a change in contract.

Why not just copy and paste what it says? Not everyone is on Facebook.

According to the details of the contract, Nokia isn't allowed to start making phones again until 2016.

Do you mean where it says "We look forward to continuing the Nokia story"? That is hardly conclusive evidence that they are going back to smartphone manufacturing.

It says, "We’re saying goodbye soon to Microsoft Lumia. The Nokia team is excited to share the continuing Nokia story with you soon!"

    Which is news... how?

    Yeah sorry... My bad...

It may not actually manufacture phones, but maybe the branding may return as Nokia Lumia... Though its less likely...

Just wanted to bring it to attention....

Easy - you fill in the rest! We can each make our own ending to the story.

MS owns the Lumia name for 10 years. It would be pointless for Nokia to wait that long to use it again. Nokia is it's own company, it is NOT owned by MS. So no, Nokia Lumia branding will NOT return.

It says they are saying goodby to Lumia and MS. They own their mapping services and telecommunications services. They might make phones again but it probably won't be WP. Then again they might not make any.

    We don't know.

I sure hope to god they'll be back in the game — the bloody smart phone game. It doesn't matter to me if they come back with Android — they're not going to be granted the Windows patent for free, for all I know.

Considering Nokia can't make any phones until 2016 how can they be returning to the smartphone game anytime soon.

I didn't say 'soon.' I just hope they'll be back in business — by 2016, perhaps.
