Lumia 920 isn't receiving push notifications or live tiles.

For the last few days I haven't received push notifications or live tile updates. Forcing me to constantly open apps such as whatsapp to check if I received new messages. I tried resetting, didn't work. Anyone know what it could be or where to look in the phone for a solution? I remember there used to be a 'background agent' setting but cant find it in 8.1

I'm having the same problem on my 925. Tiles aren't updating and no notifications, even though cellular data is on and apps are allowed to run in the background.

Turns out my phone had switched on "restrict background tasks when roaming" in data sense when I put in a new sim card recently". It was still set to "use roaming" in the settings for mobile network, so I didn't catch it right away . Doh...
