Will Minecraft run on Windows Surface 2?

Will Minecraft run on Windows Surface 2? (Windows RT Surface 32 GB). We purchased Minecraft and when we try to run or save it we get a message similar to: "The App you are trying to run is not supported on this version of Windows."

Surface RT and the 2 do not run legacy Windows applications because of fundamental hardware differences. Minecraft included.

Surface Pro 2, can.

Your best hope is Pocket Edition, but I don't know if it'll appear anytime soon.

I thought I had read somewhere that they were working on a WinRT port of Minecraft to be included in the Windows store, but I can't find the article now... All I can find at the moment is a Twitter post by Phil Spencer in which he replies "yes" to "would you promise to bring Minecraft to your own platforms/devices (Win8.1 Surface / WP8.1 L1520)?"

Take it for what it's worth, but it may be coming at sometime in the future.
