Windows Central Question

phones compatible with verizon

It seems like there aren't very many windows phones that are compatible with Verizon. Do you have to be an AT&T customer to actually have any choices when it comes to phones?
Thanks

The past year Verizon has had first pickings with the high end phones at least.

Disregarding WP7 phones.

Current phones are the:

Nokia Lumia Icon
Samsung ATIV SE
HTC One M8 for Windows

Older gen phones that work are:
Samsung ATIV Odyssey
Nokia Lumia 928, 822
HTC 8X

I think.

AT&T, or T-Mobile. Unlocked phones are GSM, which is what AT&T and T-Mobile use. Verizon is a CDMA carrier. As far as I know, the only unlocked unbranded phone in the world that works on Verizon is the Nexus 6. Other than that, all phones that you can use on Verizon are made specifically for Verizon.
