Why can't I hear anything when I try to call someone?

i cant hear anything when i try to call someone

i try to call someone and the call is going but i cannot hear any ring or i dont know if they have answered the phone etc. please help me out

Try to give it a minute. I've noticed lately this has been taking unusually long as well. From the time you initiate the call, to the time you hear the phone ringing is like a good 30-45 seconds sometimes.

What carrier are you using? I'm on AT&T here.
