My phone couldn't backup and showered an error so I deleted the previous backup and started backing up again. But it's stuck at 5%. How do I fix it?

Depending on the number of apps installed in your phone/device, some back up processes may take longer (about an hour). My L1020 back up takes more than hour, because I've got a LOT of apps installed in it. Mine usually stays at 7% for a certain period of time, but just wait and you should see the progress bar move forward.

Almost posted a similar post. For some reasons I had to hard reset my 920 some months back. After the initial backup, having setup the phone the way I like it, I've not been able to backup again, always getting error messages at random stages like 7%, 16% and even 99%.

I've been thinking of deleting the old backup file and trying again but then, why should it be so? And how come automatic backup don't work? It's been over 3 months now since my last backup.

But it got stuck on 5% about half an hour and then notified that I hadn't backed up in a while. 4 MONTHS.

Mine was doing that until I rebooted it and told it to backup again. Completed fine.

@audi360: ensure that your network connection is stable for the back up process. Delete your old back up before proceeding with the back up again.

@Bagzton: automatic back up should have been working normally, but I think the numerous OS versions cause the backs up to be incompatible for overwriting - hence the need to delete the old backs up first before creating a new one. Many users reported this method to work, while there are still some who report that this method didn't work, but it's worth a try.

As I said I tried it but it didn't work out. Don't know what to do
