Why isn't my sim card slot 1 working?

Sim card slot 1 does not work

I purchased a new Blu Windows phone and put in the SIM card from my old phone (carrier: Petro Canada (Rogers network); it does not work in slot 1, but it works in slot 2. The problem is that when sending a text message I have to keep changing to 2 before it will send. It also affects how numbers are stored. When I select Sim 1 it says No Sim. thank you.

Well I get where it says there's no sim in sim 1 when there's no sim in sim 1. So far makes sense.

But if the same card works in slot 2 and not in 1 I suspect trouble be brewin' in yer phones hard wares. Basically it's most likely a hardware fault and I suggest seeing if you can test it with another sim card. If that doesn't work, return device for repairs.
