I need to upgrade asap when my plan allows. With only these two phones considered "High End", which one would you go with and why? I'm honestly leaning toward the ICON at this point for the Lumia exclusive apps.

I would go for the icon. Its a great phone with high reviews. Also nokia/windows have a great track record for updates while HTC has had a very poor and slow update schedule.

I have the M8 and the Lumia app issue really isn't one, other apps do the same things 95% of the time. The camera is the biggest differentiation between them as the M8 takes great pics but doesn't have the megapixels to zoom at all. The Icon has battery, screen and update issues because of Verizon.

For me the M8 is better all round except for pixels in the main camera (the ffc has more!) so it's really a personal choice. You can always pay the restocking fee if you change your mind.

    Agree, M8 is better choice.

M8 sure does look like a nice phone. However, HTC does have a history of slow or non-existent releases and support. Now that Nokia is Microsoft, it seems like once they have a solid build, they push it to the carriers for updates. Unless HTC's changed their ways?
