Windows 10 as a Service

What is windows 10 as a service..? Similar to office 365..? Do we have to pay every year to use windows..?? What if we have upgraded from windows 8.1 or 7 after having fully paid to use 7 or 8.1 for the lifetime of the device?? Do we have to pay annually after the upgrade??

no we don't have to pay every year for windows 10, within 1st year , you can upgrade to windows 10 for free, after then you'll pay whatever price they'll be selling it for

Re: Windows 10 as a Service

Basically it's just a "new way of thinking about it" when it's actually the exact same thing as before.

- OEM buys a license for Windows, loads it on their machine
- Customer buys machine, as far as they are concerned Windows was "free" anyway since it was included
- The "service" part is the now mandatory Windows Update, bringing you new features and security fixes monthly.

It does appear that they've decided that all future updates and upgrades are free once you have a license, though of course that's not finalized and doesn't apply to certain groups such as volume licensing.
