Windows Central Question

Cortana Not Giving Me Any Results. At All. Not Even Cortana, I Cannot Search.

When I click on the search bar, the window pops up with cortana and what not. When I type something to search, for example, "chrome" or "control panel", anything at all; nothing happens. I just have the white box with the new cortana loading symbol at the top. I've left it for hours and don't get any results. The only way I can search is by going into the feedback app, clicking the options, and clicking the search box which brings me to the windows 8 search.

I've tried deleting my windows index and rebuilding it, which I thought was the problem, but still nothing. I also ran the windows indexing troubleshooter which has no results either. What I ended up doing was add the dword 32bit value EnableXmalStartMenu, and rebooted which gave me the old windows 10 startscreen which has a seperate search menu, away from cortana. This actually works so I don't think its the index file.

Does anyone else have this issue? Any fixes?
Thanks :)
