Why am I not able to play music on my Lumia 730?

hi i juz bought my lumia 730 on jan 2nd 2015

wen i started using the music player it showed me the "Now playing" screen so tat if v want to skip some few seconds of the song etc.. bt for the past 1 week . if i select any song to play it jus starts playing and returns to the "Home screen". im just afraid whether s anythng gone wrong with my lumia

A soft reset should fix that:

Hold down volume down and the power button simultaneously until the device vibrates. Now release both buttons and wait for your device to boot up Windows Phone again. You will need to set your time and date afterwards again, if it doesn't automatically does it for you.
