Windows Central Question

Lumia 520 is $30 these days, is there any chance to find a Lumia under $80 with 1GB RAM? If not, what's the cheapest Lumia with 1GB RAM?

Thank you

What are the prices for the 730/5 in the US? They're pretty reasonable in the UK.

PAYG Unlocked from Carphone Warehouse ?159.99 + ?10 topup.
As an upgrade can be bought for ?129.99 unlocked.

PAYG locked to EE ?129.99 + ?20 top up (top up can be used to unlock phone at any time for ?20.42)
PAYG EE upgrade ?119.99 + ?20 topup

The Lumia 525 is available very cheaply and that has 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood me, I know the UK prices, just thought I'd recommend it depending on US price!

Why dont you search about the newest affordable Lumia. Like lumia 535 I think its a good cheap phone.

Don't buy a Lumia that is 2y old. You might find it hardware limited. (and I'm saying that cause I have a Lumia 920. Very good phone btw)

And a bargain-basement model today isn't hardware limited?
I have a 920, I would recommend to anyone interested.
It's older, but the 820 is superior in almost any way compared to the 535.

xandros9: Could you tell me to where you found 820 for $50, please?
I was curious so I did some research myself and here's what I found:
Lumia 822: $80
Lumia 636: $160
These should be the best bets I think

Caution: There are some people who claim that unless you're using Verizon network, internet sharing won't work with Lumia 822. I hope experienced people here can comment on that.

My $50 quote was based on the fact that the 820 is not brand new and is locked to AT&T US, which puts a sizeable dent in its value. (as it can't easily be used on another carrier) It's great if you use AT&T in the US or don't need the telephony functions.
for example, this was first on the list when I searched "lumia 820" on eBay.
Nokia Lumia 820 8GB Windows 8 Cell Phone Smartphones for at T Black 6438158497559 | eBay
this also came up when I searched for the 822
Nokia Lumia 822 16GB White 4G LTE 8MP WiFi Qualcomm MSM8960 Verizon Phone 758478025727 | eBay

I believe VZW locks control of the internet sharing and MMS to not function (I don't know if intentional or a side-effect) on others.

Another model that comes to mind is the 525, but I cant get a decent price on that since it is not available in the US. The 435 and 532 have also launched/are being launched.

While $30 for a 520 is nothing, that phone has terrible performance with 8.1. Def try hard to find a better phone for a good deal!

Always keep an eye out for the deals from Microsoft that offer a free phone with a 1yr Xbox Music subscription. I got a 520 that way and I think they were just doing free 630's.

$100 for a year of music with a free phone is a pretty sick deal.

I see. I think that 822 internet sharing can be fixed using the Access Point app, as claimed by some people. If the questioner needs a new phone, then 822 would be her/his best bet. (hopefully internet sharing wouldn't be a big deal for her/him)

Sorry can't post link because I'm not very active. This post claims you can use Access Point app to fix sharing issues. Good luck and let us know what you decide on
