I have a Lumia 928 and recently upgraded the OS to 8.1 - where did phone calendar entries go?

I own a Nokia 928 phone. Recently, received Windows 8.1 update and installed it (Verizon is my carrier). I just went into my calendar to gather mileage data for taxes for the past year only to find all entries of driving mileage and any other entries I loaded into the calendar prior to the update are now missing from the calendar on my phone. Where is that data? Can I retrieve it? Incredibly important to have this data!

If the previous entries were synced to your Microsoft account then they should be synced to the calendar app in a while. Or you can force it manually by going to settings >> email+accounts >> Microsoft account long press >> sync
