My laptop is on its last legs and I'm thinking of a Surface Pro 3 or Dell Venue Pro. Which one is the better buy?

I only need 64gb on board since I can get an SD and have cloud storage.

Please excuse the dumb question, what's the biggest reason as to why? Aren't their specs pretty comparable?

I would probably get the Venue 11 Pro. (funnily enough, the Venue Pro - without the number like 8 or 11 - is a Windows Phone 7 smartphone)

Specs can be comparable, but the Venue 11 Pro has a lower spec-floor. (it has an Atom model)

My thinking as to why I recommend this model:
Replaceable battery (this unit is infinitely easier to repair than the Pro 3, but that's reflecting more on the utter lack-of reparability on the end of the Pro line)
Laptop dock model (extra battery I think - however I think the type cover is hard to imitate with the Venue's flip keyboard cover)

However, the Pro 3 is higher quality IMO, has that kickstand (a big one), better design and feel and has a better pen. But I don't think it'll be worth it to me in the long run.

I'm using it for basic web function (blogging), Evernote and Office.

Unless you're a sucker for a handheld device like I am, go for the Surface. In fact, even then, go for the surface.

I ended up going with a touchscreen 15.6" Dell laptop with 6GB of memory, 1TB hard drive and an I5 processor. Once I saw the Surface, it hit me I'd be happier with a bigger screen.
