Windows Central Question

Maybe I'm missing a hotkey, but moving the caret/cursor one space to the right is not quick and I often just retype the word.

8.0's caret (press and hold) was easier for me.

If something doesn't exist yet, maybe an option like: SHIFT+BACKSPACE = DELETE (clear out one character to the right of the caret) would work?

Yes, unfortunately we'll have to live with the infamous "Windows 10 will fix this!" solution. The Virtual Precision Pointing Stick (or VirPPoS for short) will be great, and sorely needed. Trying to move the cursor in WP8 was bad enough, and it's just mind-boggling that they came up with something even worse in WP8.1. I haven't cared for much of what I've seen for W10 for Phones, but this is the one thing I am looking forward to. If they had put it in 8.1, I may have been tempted to not even move to W10 for a long while.

As long as the benefits of the VirPPoS outweigh the top-of-screen menus and location bars of W10, i'll happily upgrade. Because like you, I find moving the cursor around in WP8.1 a pain!
