Well, I'm not sure if you are familiar with an app called Lumia Storage Check Beta. It's not a new app, and it hasn't seen an update since April 2013, but it does the job and allows you to set the SD card as the storage for maps. Link to the app below. This should be part of the built-in storage check, not sure why this feature is in a separate app. [FONT=Verdana,sans-serif]

It won't move them off your phone, but you can specify SD card as the location for new downloads.

Storage sense can not move/point existing/new maps to sd card. This is where Lumia storage check beta was used. Its been taken off from store. Hopefully it may return or a new version of storage sense capable of doing same would be in process of being released.

Found a way for this.

Follow this...

Install "Root Tool" from the store and follow the help from the app, specificaly it need to be installed to the SD card and do the moddings suggested by the developer of the app. Move the app back to the phone.

Select " Lumia registry editor"

Select HKLM and DWORD

path "System\Maps\Storage"
key "UseExtendedStorage'

press the "Read" button

The Value would be "00000000"
Change it to "00000001"
And write.

Down load the new map. it will be stored in the SD memory.

You may have to check/create the below two keys as well for a faster download of the maps.

"UseSmallerCache"=dword:0
"ExternalStorageOverride"=dword:1

Sorry for the fragmented answer but it works perfect.
Thanks for the Root Tool application author.

Sorry, at the moment i am unable to make a tutorial. If some one can make a tutorial, would be great help for others.
