Why can't I save apps to SDcard?

It works with photos, videos, music and other files, but not with apps. Direct download from store is not possible, and neither can I save apps from the phone to SD card. Neither soft nor hard reset does work; I have already tried three different SDcards, but without success. With Cyan, I also tried Lumia Storage Check, but that didn't work either (and is not available for Denim anyway). I noticed that the Accessories Agent is missing from the firmware list - can that be the reason? Is there anything else I could try short of sending the phone in for repair? Thanks in advance...

Assuming you have the latest updates and Denim firmware, go to settings, Storage Sense, and first make sure your SD card is recognized (under "phone" it should show your SD card with used/free space. Then the second box from the bottom should read "store new apps on my" (select SD card here)...
