After 10-15 minutes use my Lumia 730 got overheated from the left side of my mobile. This phone has a OLED screen. Is it a hardware issue or software issue?

If the phone is being overheated to the point where you can't hold it, then there is sth wrong internally..

Keep in mind that most phones do get a bit warm when used intensively or when the phone thinks you're using it intensively.

A few soft reset might help, otherwise a hard reset.. If neither help, then bring the phone in for a checkup

What's going on when you do that?
My 920 gets pretty hot when browsing over cellular but other than that it works perfectly. Might just be a minor quirk.

Did you go for a hard reset?
I wouldn't do that quite yet, seems a bit overkill.

I do a hard reset. Its not very hot but more than usual and that is only after 3-4 minutes usage.sometimes it doesn't heat up but sometimes it does.

Yea I agree, but since it took me a while to get back to him, I figured, he might've already pulled the trigger

Did you restore a backup? or just start over?

I backup app settings after resetting

The overheating might be due to any recent apps you installed (doesn't have to be, but could)

    Now what's the solution?

There isn't a go to solution in this case...

    Things to do:

    - Soft reset
    - sorting through app list to remove any recently installed apps and monitoring the device
    - going to battery saver and checking which apps use the most power, removing them and monitoring
    - hard reset and restore a recent backup
    - hard reset without restoring a recent backup

These are all things you can do, but beyond this, the issue might be hardware
