Bluetooth Tethering

When you Bluetooth tether your windows phone to your laptop to utilize the data connection... Is the signal advertised like when you wifi tether? As in, can other people see your connection on the network tab when scanning for wifi? What is shown to other people and machines when you Bluetooth tether?

I don't think so. I'm thinking it'll be strictly over Bluetooth but my laptop doesnt have bluetooth so I can test personally.

I dont think that it'll use the Wi-Fi radio so it shouldn't appear, but you may want to try that yourself.

I haven't used it either but it is probably like WiFi.
When you see the WiFi hotspot advertised this does not actually come from WiFi, it comes from a Bluetooth signal. If you turn BT off on your phone nothing will be advertised until you manually turn on sharing.
