I have the same problem and it is likely that it is caused by missing song info. If your songs are downloaded via Xbox Music they should appear on your lockscreen. Also if you have the music pass you can trigger for any artist to download all the extra info (such as pictures) if you just download anything from them. The device will recognize the artist is the same and will download all available info such as pictures. These will then also show up behind the Music app menus, in the Music tile, and on the lockscreen (if enabled) while the music is playing.

If you don't have a music pass there used to be an app to get all the relevant info for your songs (MPAtool), but unfortunately it appears that it doesn't work on Windows Phone 8.1:

I use xbox music and I have music pass but I still can't see anything on my lock screen. Live tile and album art in the app works fine so I have no clue what the problem is. Same problem with mix radio and Spotify :\

Edit: Will check link in sec a, thanks
