Is there some way to save the address book to a file on a SD card and return it back ?
This would make it much more easy to change the phone, because then we could send the file to ourselves as an email attachment.

But if you use the same ms account on your new phone contacts will automatically synced and if you use another ms account you can add the "old" MS account as normal account and contacts are also synced.

User, please do not create multiple threads on one issue...

Using the cloud sync, backup and restore features in Windows Phone is the best and easiest solution. I have switched phones many many times and have had zero issues getting my SMS and Contacts moved between phones or on multiple phones at once. Trust the power of the cloud and don't over-complicate things.

Note for SMS cloud backup you have to enable it in the Settings.
