so i went out for a walk about 3 miles i noticed the band wasnt really picking up the steps, assuming because my hands were on the pram, is there any way round this? a 3rd party add on maybe?

    walking 1 handed isnt easy

    Yeah.

It needs the swing to know you are taking a step. If you have a windows phone with Motion Core it will track your steps quite well. The band needs to distinguish between steps and just reaching for your fork so the motion required to trigger a step count is quite distinct.
