Windows Central Question

Hello out there,
I'm using a thinkpad with XP and are looking for a pc-suite to connect the Phone (with win8.1).
Right now the PC just recognises the phone as a cam "GT-I8750".
And I see no folders in the explorer.

A few phone updates ago it was "ATIV S". With folders phone and card.

Plse advise

First and foremost: Why are you still using XP? Don't get me wrong, but the support of the system through Microsoft has long been stopped (basically meaning, that you don't get any updates for security exploits anymore). One way to get a new system for free might be to participate in the Windows 10 Insider Preview.
As for you problem - unfortunately I don't have an idea.

Hmmm... I agree with the above. Time to let go of XP is now past due.

However, to help solve your issue. There is no "Suite" available and you have to step up to Win 7 to begin using the Windows Phone App for Desktop.

You may have to strip out all the old USB drivers for the phone. Download this tool: View any installed/connected USB device on your system There is no install, it runs out of the folder. Right click the .exe and select "run as admin" to get the permissions needed.

Go through the list of USB drivers and delete any that say Windows Phone or Samsung or Ativ...

Now plug the phone in again and it should load a fresh driver set.
