[L640XL] Unable to charge phone when switched off?

Normally we do charge our devices while we are on to bed or whether the charge is too much low we will plug it into the charging socket. Anyway i tried in both cases, the phone completely reboot the device. Actually it can be one of the demerits of the phone i think.Mostly, devices like Microsoft should get resolved with such nitty gritty issues, comparing to other devices.

Is there any alternative option to charge my phone while i switch off ?

Nope. Windows phone does not support this yet. Maybe Windows 10 may.

Until then, if you don't want to be bothered, airplane mode is your best bet.

Ive read somewhere that powering on when you charge your phone is done to make sure the battery reading is accurate or something like that.
