Why can I switch on my phone?

I can't switch on my mobile.

Actually recently I reseted my mobile. Finally When I tried to switch it on back. I get that updating symbol of gear. After some time I get a sad smiley & mobile will be switched off. What should I do now >???

Had a similar prob- dont know how it worked but i removed battery, SIM and Micro storage card then replaced them and the mobile booted. Mobile then updated (took 2 hours) rebooted itself three times. On the third reboot it worked brilliant. The mind boggles :/
