Windows Central Question

I made the mistake of buying the Lumia 830 on the ATT NEXT program on 7/6. So I am past my 14 day return policy and now I see that I don't even have the latest firmware. Ugh ... am I now forced to keep this phone??? ATT should accept returns on this phone -- it looks like it is not being sold online, but do I have any options?

Well, you could potentially sell the phone and get a model that has the firmware. I recently got the same model, the infamous RM-983. My rationale is that my previous phone wouldn't have gotten the LC5 goodies anyway and that it was a good deal.

I don't know the specifics on ATT Next though, whether you can swap the phone out. I would think as long as you pay as per the agreement.

It's a huge letdown to many... I know that is cold comfort.

Consumer pressure may yet clear up the situation and force the OTA to be released... Maybe.

I just moved on from an 830 RM-983 as a back up. They are still very nice and the camera (the main part of the missing update) takes some great pics. It fooled a lot of Lumia purists.

AT&T are really the only ones who can address this properly. How is your relationship with your local store? That might make a difference.
