Tried to install windows 10 on my lumia 720 and it did not install?

Hi. I just downloaded the windows 10 update for WP (I used the developer app to get access to this) and when I downloaded it and installed it, my phone just hanged while it was trying to install it and then shut down. When I turned my phone on again, the update did not appear. I was still in windows 8. And I tried downloading the update again because the "download" button is still there in the phone update section in the settings and then the same thing happened. While it was installing, it hanged and shut down again. And then I turned it on again and tried downloading it but now I don't have enough space in my phone to download it again. I tried looking for a way to delete the "downloaded but not installed updates" but i can't and I'm 100% sure that those downloads that weren't installed is taking up the space in my systems storage and there is no way I can delete anything from there. What should I do?

Hard reset or Windows Phone Recovery Tool to clear the download.
