I have 8. Do i need to download 8.1 first to get windows 10?

I got a pop up from you. It was a blue bar across my screen that told me I needed to download 8.1 in 1, 2, or 4 hours. There was no way out except to click OK. Help ! I need to know if this was sent to me from microsoft windows and if I need to download 8.1 first before I get windows 10. I currently have windows 8.
