I donwloaded windows update so why don't I see the windows 10 app on my computer

Please, be more specific. If you are talking about the "Get Windows 10" application it appears on your taskbar. More specifically, in the lower-right corner. It'll look like a tiny Windows logo. You click on this in order to reserve your copy of Windows 10.
What do you mean by downloaded Windows Update?
