Produce Key when upgrading from USB (Windows 10)

My computer keeps failing to upgrade with the media tool, can i upgrade with a usb and without a product key?
i see there is a option for upgrade this pc when you run the usb but will that need me to enter a product key later or will it use my windows 8 key

It's important that you carry out an upgrade from your existing OS as this is what upgrades your product key from Win 8. It's then held in the cloud so in the future you can complete a clean install.

If you are install Win 10 as the upgrade, you can skip through entering the product key. You will need to complete this twice.

I upgraded with my USB HDD without a problem, so you shouldn't have any issues doing it that way. Report back if you have any further issues...
