Windows Central Question

I have an old desktop tower that I've system restored and I'd like to use the hard drive to store my photographs and videos and such. I found it has a FireWire port on the back. My current laptop has and eSATA/USB combo port on it.

My question. Can I link the two so the old tower will appear on my laptop as an external hard drive? Are those two ports even compatiible?

I believe that Firewire port is not meant to connect PC to PC like the Ethernet port, it works more like a USB port to connect compatible devices like digital cameras... but that port is old and most modern consumer devices are not compatible with Firewire.

You can use that HDD by taking it out of the PC case and use a HDD enclosure like this one, if you want a HDD enclosure you must check if your HDD is SATA or IDE.
