Have followed advice on some posts by deleting back up on Nokia Lumia 920

... have tried several times to run back up again, keeps on failing, now have NO back up - any solid advice out there please?

Gets to 99%, before failing, very frustrating. Need to have back up working as moving over to new phone Nokia Lumia 640. Also needing to know how to transfer text messages from 920 to 640 as this seems to also be problematic.

Anyone able to help on both issues please?

No need to worry. As long as you sign in with the same Microsoft account on the new phone, you'll be able to download all your apps that you've purchased as they're tied to your MS account. Same with text messages.. Just make sure "text message backup" is on, then on the new phone, you be able to retrieve messages from "last week, month, year, etc"

Sorry, just tried my wife's Lumia 920 with similar results. Suggestion, reset One Drive, it appears to fail on the write ... other than that, dunno.

When you get on the Lumia 640, under Messaging >> Settings, you have Download messages from ...

EDIT: Went thru the process of deleting the BACKUP & backing up, again. While BACKUP throws an error, there is a backup, there (on ONE DRIVE). Don't know how viable this backup is. When you migrate to the Lumia 640, you'll still have everything on your Lumia 920 for reference. IF it asks to restore from backup, attempt that.
Let us know how this works, as that appears to be the path my wife will take - moving to a LUMIA 640.

Thanks guys - the key to this working was to ensure that back-up is on for everything - messages/apps/photos, etc. on both phones before commencing transfer data / copy / restore back-up.

Having same exactly same issue ! Makes it to 99% then says problem backing up settings please try again! Trying to go to w10 mobile but can't make a back up
