Windows Phone create Microsoft Account (8 or 10)

Hello =)
I have a pretty strange question. I've seen that when setting up a Windows Phone mobile for the first time, we can create a new Microsoft Account. During the process, we also need to enter an "alternative" email address. I was wondering if we could skip that ? Or if it is mandatory to put one to create the new account ?

Thank you ! =)

You would need a backup address for example for security reasons in case you lock yourself out or strange behaviour on the account

Thank you for your answer.

Yes I know but can we skip that anyway ?

My experience is that when I skip that part in the end I cannot use phone.

The OS only knows contacts from the cloud, need to export them to an email address. If I have no data the cannot be activated.

I know...
I'd just love to create a microsoft account without having to put an existing email address. What if I want to start fresh ? Seems impossible and that's ridiculous.
Thanks anyway

Well try to setup the Microsoft account on a pc. Think you cant create it there without the address either. but maybe they can use the phone rather than the email address and have this as a backup code supplying service.
