why can i not get into windows 10

my son can log into my laptop on my user account for windows 10 as a family member but when i try to sign in it shows preparing windows then goes to a blank screen but from the blank screen i can lock,switch user,sign out and cancel

I would delete the user account that doesn't work, reboot the pc and create a new user account with the same name.
