How can I get sleep mode working?

Why Sleep Mode Does Not Work Anymore

Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, my "sleep" function doesn't work anymore.
every time I close my laptop, it'll go blank as usual, but as soon as I lift the screen back up, it doesn't wake up again. The laptop is still on, it just doesn't respond to anything.
Can anyone help at all?
Also, I'm not very educated in laptop technicality, so bare with me.

Probably a driver error. Most likely video driver. Check you laptop manufacturer website for a driver update. And check for BIOS updates at the same time.
