Re: How can I boot from cd or usb

Boot into the Bios and launch the USB or DVD that way. If you have a new system the boots fast due to the UEIF Bios, hold the shift key while selecting restart, it will boot into a menu. Select Advance options and select boot into UEFI Bios.

Go to setting: Battery: Change Battery settings or just type in Control Panel for: Turn off: Hibernate and Fast boot!

Restart pc: Acces your BIOS: Mine is by pressing: CTRL+ALT+DLTE depending on your machine (Mine is from Asus) try F2, F8, F10 or F12 by pressing one of those while the system boots!
Then turn off: UEFI and Secure Boot! Or something like that (Machine dependant) but it's still located at the Boot Options settings.

Change Boot legacy: As DVD of USB.
Select ypur boot option with the drive connected.

Remember to backup first!
Remember to create a (/) root user! A (home) user and a (Swap) partition: That might be the same of your RAM. Then enjoy!

P.s That's how I made my dual boot!

And If you didn't get me: http://itsfoss.com/install-ubuntu-1404-dual-boot-mode-windows-8-81-uefi/
