Modern batteries come with circuits that regulate the charging rate. Hence, even if a charger has an output that is twice (or even thrice) the output of the default charger, the phone will still charge at the rate it was designed for*. This is the reason why power banks (the good ones which underwent quality testing and control) do not burn phone batteries even if they were capable of charging tablets (with higher charging requirements).

However, in general, quick chargers are not battery-friendly. Higher charging (and discharging) rates increase battery wear. Besides, if the input charging rate is too high, there's a higher chance that the battery circuit will fail - especially if the charger you intend to buy is unbranded/did not go through a lot of quality testing. Good chargers (and power banks) "adapt" to the limitations of what they're charging.

So, yes, if the ports fit, then the charger should be compatible with your L1520. You may get faster charging rates (but also expect increased heating while charging). Also make sure that the charger underwent legitimate quality control.

*- The same logic applies: one can't simply plug a battery into an outlet an expect it to charge within seconds.
