I am using Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 2.
I have enabled stereo mix as a recording device, but, using Audacity, there is no input. It worked fine in previous versions of Windows. Can anyone suggest a way of making it work?

This stopped working properly on Windows 8.1 as far as I know. Audacity will be unable to assist here.

Windows actually blocked recording what you listen to in order to appease the music industry so that people would be unable to record music as they listened to internet radio, as they wanted people to pay for downloaded music instead.

There used to be at least one program that could still accomplish this, but the website is no longer available. That means the purchase I made years ago is no longer valid, as when you reinstall it needs to verify with the website. It's gone, so is my software.

I'd recommend doing an internet search to see if there is some software that can accomplish what you want. Audacity will simply not do it. If you're looking for a free solution, it likely won't be available.
