since upgrading to windows 10 my desktop wallpaper and open windows split in two on the screen

Since i upgraded to Windows 10 from windows 7 home, I now have a problem as after about 30 - 45 mins after my computer has been turned on, the screen and open window along with the desktop background wallpaper splits into two windows making it impossible to view properly or use and to move across the screen with the mouse, I have to drag the mouse cursor to the right and it re appears on the left side of the screen and if I want to read what is on the screen, I have to click, hold, drag and move it around left and right to see it all as its split up on the screen. It's very odd and have never seen or had this problem before...please help its driving me nuts.
