my 435 phone wont work at all,whats wrong please

my volume down button was not turning my volume down so i switched phone off when i turned it back on their was a lightning bolt and gear symbol on so i held the power button and volume down button like advised and it got rid of the symbols and brought me back to the home page on my phone but now i can do anything it wont turn down and i cant use the back button or the home button can anyone help please x

go to settings > about > reset

This reset the phone back to factory settings. The volume button might be a hardware issue tho. There are apps in the store that allow you to set the volume
