I created a recovery image of my SP3 to move to my SB, per a tutorial on this site. However, when I try to install the image (stored on an external drive), it tells me I need a CD/DVD to install the image. I don't have a CD/DVD drive - I thought all I needed was the backup image?

Why would you load your sp3 image on a surface book.

This will cause all kind of problems and is not recommended.

Sorry, this was me. I did it so I don't have to reinstall all of my programs. So basically I have to go and reinstall everything manually?

Yes. IImaging works going from the same model to the same model.
You Wwill end up with driver problems, bsods, etc. heck, windows might not even load!

    Do it manually
